Community Art - Reemergence: Forging New Realities Together

An introductory session and art workshop will be on Saturday, August 19th, 10am-1:30pm. Workshops will also be conducted on Saturdays, August 26th and September 9th, 10am-12:30pm and 12:30-3pm. An extra Saturday may be added if necessary.

Community members of all ages, backgrounds and abilities are invited to participate in a collaborative community art installation along the HVRT rail trail. This public art project is sponsored by the Hudson Valley Rail Trail Association, in collaboration with artist, Susan Togut, who is completing an installation in 2023 for the historical Farmer's Bridge that crosses the trail. She will conduct community workshops to create illuminated painted and mixed-media mandalas, as well as painted rocks and other art components, to be unified as a community installation in trees along the trail. The workshops will be conducted under a rail trail pavilion between August and September, with the installation completed by October, 2023. A dedication for both projects will be announced in the fall. Workshops will be held at 101 New Paltz Road, under the pavilion on the trail.
